We all admire those enormous glass and metal structures. Architects try to break all sorts of records and do something even more extravagant than their predecessors. However, these monuments of our civilisation have to be maintained properly as well. We all keep whining when it is the time to clean our windows, which are probably less than a dozen. But have you thought what it takes, when it comes to cleaning skyscraper’s windows?  Well, the things get intense…

When we say skyscraper window cleaning, we are talking about dozens, hundreds feet above the ground, wind speeds up to 20 mph and only cleaning team in the cradle. And if it gets over that speed, window cleaners actually risk their lives by getting out there. The cradle itself cannot be used at speeds higher than 20-30 mph. Thousands of glass panes to clean and nothing to hold on. Sounds fun, huh?

Thinking of this made us wonder: how long does it actually take to clean a skyscrapers like the Gherkin, The Shard or even Burj Khalifa from top to bottom? And here is what we’ve found:
